Membership Form Coming Soon

[ninja_form id=2]

Your membership covers all aspects of training at CDODC, from puppy pre-school and puppy classes to basic obedience, and then on to further obedience and dog sport classes such as agility, flyball, rally and trial preparation.

On average, we start new classes every 3-4 weeks, so there may be a slight delay after joining before you can start training. Please monitor our home page for unexpected delays to our training schedule.

To join a puppy pre-school class with a puppy 8-12 weeks of age, please follow this link and follow the enrolment procedure.

For all other classes, please visit our club office on any training Sunday during our office hours to sign up. A reminder that there is no training during December and January, or on long weekends.

When you come down to enrol you will need to bring:

  • your dog’s current vaccination certificate or titre test results for distemper, hepatitis, and parvovirus (confirmation of bordetella vaccination is not required);
  • proof of your COVID vaccination status;
  • proof of government-issued concession (if applicable); and
  • an appropriate photo ID document for all enrolling members – we accept:
    • Australian drivers licences or learners permits;
    • Australian boat licences;
    • Australian shooters licences;
    • Australian or overseas passports (in English only);
    • Australian police force officer or Australian defence force photo identity card;
    • consular photo ID;
    • security/crowd control licences;
    • Australian photo ID cards such as “Keycard” or similar; and
    • Australian government photo IDs, such as Working With Children permits and Proof of Age cards.

Membership fees

The standard cost for one person to join CDODC is $100 for the first year and $70 for each subsequent year of continued membership. Additional handlers may be added to a membership for $20 at time of sign up or $30 at a later date. CDODC has no ongoing weekly fees.

A membership fee consists of:

  • $30.00 joining fee – a once off fee, provided membership is continuous; and
  • $70.00 membership fee – paid for each primary member, per year.

We offer the following discounts:

  • $10.00 discount for Dogs Victoria members;
  • $20.00 discount for people who hold government-issued concession cards (ie pensioner and/or health care cards); and
  • $30.00 discount for CDODC volunteers.

It is essential that all family members who intend to train the dog at CDODC are members of the club for insurance purposes. If you would like someone else to train your dog when you are sick or otherwise unavailable, please complete their membership application online prior to their arrival at the club.

We accept payment via bank transfer or Eftpos, excluding American Express.

Disclaimer: Prices are current for the 2021/2022 financial year.  CDODC reserves the right to amend its fees from time to time, as necessary for the needs of the club.100

Membership period

New memberships are valid from the date of joining until 31 March of the following year.

Ongoing members must renew their membership by 31 March. Membership will then remain current from 1 April to 31 March of the following year.

Memberships cannot be transferred or refunded except in accordance with applicable laws. Please refer to our refund policy for more information.

Children between the ages of 12 and 18 may only train a dog if:

  • both the child and their parent, guardian or supervising adult are members of CDODC;
  • a parent, guardian or supervising adult signs a Parental Agreement Form;
  • a parent, guardian or supervising adult attends class with the child at all times; and
  • if deemed necessary, after completing an assessment to determine the suitability of the size and temperament of the dog in relation to the size and age of the child. The assessment will be conducted by a panel of two CDODC officers whose decision is final.

A dual membership attaches a new member to the membership of an existing member. It allows an individual to train a dog currently attending CDODC for a cheaper fee.

Dual memberships may be desirable for a number of reasons. A member may wish to make their partner a dual member so that their partner can bring their dog to training when they are unwell or too busy to attend. A member may also wish to involve other members of their household in the dog’s training so they are familiar with the principles being taught at club. However, Croydon Dog Club emphasises that dog training classes are about developing a bond between one owner and their dog. Unless exceptional circumstances apply, the person handling the dog in class should remain the same throughout the duration of the class.

To apply for dual membership, select dual membership on our online enrolment form.
